By leaving your firearm or parts, or by putting down a deposit for custom work at RH Custom Guns, you signal your consent to abide by these policies.
For non-menu priced items, our time is billed on an hourly basis, with a 1 hour minimum for every gun worked on. Our shop rates are $75/hr at the bench and $90/hr at the machine. After the first hour, time will be billed in 15 minute increments.
If you bring a gun into the shop, and we sign it into our books, but you decide to come pick the gun up BEFORE it has reached our bench, there will be a fee of $40 for our time. If the gun has reached the bench for work to begin, our minimum hourly rate will apply.
FFL transfers are $40.00
Our hourly bench rate applies to the time we spend searching for parts. We have many resources for parts, but some parts can be difficult, and take time to find. This is especially true with old or obsolete firearms.
We do not order or sell any parts without installation.
In cases where a firearm is unable to be fixed, or the client asks us to halt work, the client will still be billed for any time we put into the job, regardless of whether or not the job is complete, or the problem is fixed.
Clients may be asked for a deposit for certain items ordered that are over a certain price point. Items may include, but are not limited to: parts, accessories, optics, firearms. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
We do not give turn around estimates at this time. We work on every gun on a first come, first served basis. We will let you know when the guns we are working on now came in so that you have a rough idea how long your job will take, but we do not guarantee any time estimate.
We do not guarantee a certain level of accuracy with any gun we work on or build. We build very accurate rifles, but many factors go into an accurate rifle. Many rifles/barrels require load development to shoot to their full potential, whether custom or not, and this service is not built in to the price of our work. If you have a rifle we worked on, and you do not think it is shooting as well as it should, we will be happy to take it in and shoot it. If it does not shoot to our standards, we will get it shooting at no charge. If we shoot it and it is up to our standards, you will receive the target we shot, along with a bill for our time.
If we ONLY rebarrel a rifle, we do not guarantee that the rifle will be accurate, only that we have done the work accurately as it relates to the machining.
While we do guarantee that we install parts correctly, we do not guarantee that any parts we install will cause increased reliability or ease of use. If a part is installed correctly, and the gun experiences a malfunction due to the part, the client will be billed for any time we put in to correct the malfunction, or install a replacement.
Due to the manufacturing techniques and materials used, we can not guarantee our repairs on economy grade guns. We reserve the right to designate a gun as economy grade and will notify you if we do. If the gun is recently released, or is something we haven't worked on before, please know that we may not be able to make a determination until work has begun
We use only the proper tools and procedures when disassembling a gun, however, parts do sometimes break or get damaged when they are being removed. If a part breaks or is damaged during disassembly the client will be charged for a replacement part and the hourly rate if fitting is required.
Woodwork takes as long as it takes. We will do our best to estimate the cost, but each job is different and we do not always know how much time will be required to complete the job up to our standards.
Action work: if we perform action/trigger work on a gun, we do not guarantee it will be reliable unless ammunition is provided to us for testing. If we test fire a gun and it functions well for us, our work is guaranteed only as far as it concerns the work we actually did. If we discover that the gun isn't functioning due to parts installed, or just needing more work, the client will be billed accordingly. Action work on guns that are used for fast or rough shooting is not guaranteed as this type of shooting can cause accelerated wear. Like we always say, "How many races does a race car engine last?"
Once our work on a firearm is complete, the client has 30 days to pay for and retrieve the gun from RH Custom Guns, after they have been notified of the completion of the work. Late charges may be assessed at 30, 60, and 90 days. After 90 days, RH Custom Guns will have the right to sell the item to recoup the cost of the bill to the client. The amount of the client's bill, plus any late charges will be deducted from the sale price and the balance will be returned to the client.
These policies are set in place to help us run our shop as efficiently as possible, in order to serve our clients. Our highest priority is the satisfaction of our clients, and we are grateful for all the great clients we have!
